On behalf of Craig MacGregor‘s family and the Foghat family, it is with great sadness that we are letting you know that we have lost our brother, good friend, husband, father and band mate this morning. He passed peacefully in his wife, Lisa MacGregor‘s arms after a prolonged battle with cancer. Please respect the privacy of the family and band members at this time. We will be sharing information in the next day or so. Rest in Peace Thunderfingers.

Really sorry to hear of Craig’s passing. Another legend from the legendary band called “Foghat” has died. See you up there in heaven Craig where we can all rock down. Peace, Brother! MIKE PHILLIPS, DELMAR, MARYLAND
This is happy-sad news (no disrespect intended). Our hearts are broken. We can only imagine your sorrow. Our prayer are for your comfort. We believe it is not “goodbye”, but “see you later”. Throw Craig a party and laugh till you cry. Just think,,, there is some crazy rocking going on in Heaven.
A quote for the song “Dance Toward The Light” written by my dear friend, Dana Cooper.
I cried for the singer as he sang his last song.
In one voice together we all sang along.
And as we walk through the darkness toward an uncertain dawn, in the distance between us the music plays on.
I have been following the band for 45 years. I remember back in 78 seeing the Foghat jam at the Providence civic center. What a show. You will missed.
While Craig was not the original bass player, it never mattered who was on stage – Tony at first and then Craig and Tony alternated a while. Both of them
could bring it. Looking back though , now it almost feels like Craig was up there on that stage for most of the numerous FOGHAT shows I was able to attend. Rock on Craig and have fun in the greatest rock band in the universe – you are reunited with Lonesome Dave and Rod Price brother and a host
of talent we all miss back here.
This message is for the Foghat band and to the entire Craig MacGregor family…I am a former Professional Wrestler and back in 1987 I was in Gainesville, Florida and I went to a Foghat mini concert and met the entire band….Craig invited me to come up onto the tour bus that night and party some with the band of which I did….I was on the Foghat bus for 7 hrs and come to know the best rock band EVER !!! I have not talked to the band since that night in 1987 so would Roger Earl or one of the band members give me a call, I’d really appreciate it….My number is 336-534-5605….I am Sooo SORRY TO HEAR THAT MY FRIEND CRAIG MACGREGOR past a way…Craig was a real friend and the BEST BASS PLAYER EVER….Love you all and love Craig MacGregor he was a real icon…Would Roger or a band member give me a call…
RIP, Craig. I had the pleasure of seeing you as part of Foghat in 1980, 2007 (twice), 2008, and 2010.
I saw you with Foghat on 7/24/80 in Evansville, IN, with the Pat Travers Band opening. Mars Cowling was the bassist for the PT Band at that time. Now today, 4/29/18, I learned that both you and Mars passed away this year, only 39 days apart.
Needless to say, but I am going to crank lots of Foghat and Pat Travers Band music today and all week long.
